How It Works
Our Anti-slip treatment is a uniquely formulated chemical compound designed to react with silica sand in the surface of your floor. This process creates a positive slip resistant environment without aesthetically changing the appearance of the surface. Because this treatment is not a topical application, it will not crack, peel chip or discolor with age. There will be no tread or wear patterns on the surface in high traffic areas. These treatments can be applied and reapplied without jeopardizing the structural composition of the surface material. Although not intended to be a cleaning agent, this process will aslo purge and brighten surfaces, renewing its apearance.

Each anti-slip treatment is applied by one of our certified technicians. Our technicians will conduct an assessment of the surface being treated and determine a customized ratio of treatment and SCOF (Static Co-Efficient of Friction) designed for your surface material. Once the product is applied, there is no need for curing or drying time. Your daily operations can proceed as normal.

The penalty for a commercial

building’s floor being found in violation of the American’s With Disabilities Act, for a first time offender, is $50,000. Second time offenders incur penalties of $100,000.

What is a Tread Pattern?
A tread pattern is best described as the fingerprint of the surface. All silica sand
based surfaces have a smooth fingerprint. Our treatment enters into the pores
of the surface and microscopically changes that fingerprint by widening and
deepening the powers. The end result is the creation of a non-slippery tread
pattern.

As an added benefit, our

What is Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF)?
If you are a business owner you already know that OSHA and ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) have standards in place that require floors to be safe from slip and fall accidents. At the very least, it is required to take the necesary precautions to ensure the floors are safe. These standards are measured by a term known as the Static Coefficient of Friction, or SCOF.

The SCOF between two solid surfaces is defined as the tangential force required to produce sliding divided by the normal force between two surfaces. SCOF is measured with a “Slip Meter” such as the ASM 825 pictured below.

These devices are used primarily by insurance agencies when investigating slip and fall injury claims. Our technicians employ the same technology to insure your floor goes above and beyond the standards of OSHA and ADA for safe floor compliance. Our customers have successfully lowered their Workers Compenation and Liability insurance costs, as well as avoided steep fees for violation of ADA standards, by having our treatment applied to their floors.

As adopted by Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and the American Society of Testing and Materials (A.S.T.M.), “A static anti-slip coefficient of friction of .50 or above is considered a safe walkway surface with a dry condition. A reading below .50 is considered an unsafe walkway surface.”
